Rock Mechanics – Foundation Engineering
It looks at issues relating to the design of foundations on rock and how to reinforce tunnels and other waterways in rock. Another important issue is how to seal the rock under a dam. The research area is run by Fredrik Johansson, senior researcher at the centre and professor of rock mechanics at the Department of Soil and Rock Mechanics at KTH.
