Rock mechanics – foundation engineering
It looks at issues such as the design of foundations on rock and how to reinforce tunnels and other waterways in rock. An important issue is also how to seal the rock under a dam. The research area is run by Fredrik Johansson, senior researcher at the center and professor of rock mechanics at the Department of Soil and Rock Mechanics at KTH.
