Research and Development

Building and maintaining resilient and internationally attractive research environments, on the shoulders of previous SVC activities, is an important part of the work carried out within the Centre. The research in our three work packages will all support the long-term objectives of the SVC to:

• ensure that the industry has the necessary knowledge and practices to maintain safe and long-lasting hydropower plants,
• contribute to a solid scientific basis for the implementation of measures for the ecological rehabilitation of river ecosystems,
• optimize the use of water in regulated rivers by balancing the needs of different stakeholders, including the supply of renewable, fossil-free electricity to society.
